Guide youth on snow shoeing adventures at Mount Rainier National Park. Teach content related to old growth ecology, silviculture, climate change, geology, glaciology, vulcanology, snow science.

Researched tree community assemblage at and above treeline using climate change as a human-timescale proxy for changing environmental conditions. Performed a wide variety of duties including tree core analysis, data entry and management, and isotopic analysis.

Collected data at sites throughout the Sierra Nevada for a comparison study examining post fire plant regeneration. Duties included, plant identification, tree coring and measurement, forest mapping.

Sea Kayaking / Backpacking Guide

Taught sea kayaking and backpacking skills to university students and community members. Organized and led trips while facilitating group bonding and ensuring client safety. Trained new backpacking guides by teaching hard skills such as wilderness navigation as well as interpersonal/leadership skills. Developed curriculum for classroom sessions and led new guides on backcountry trips.
